In the martial arts tradition at Soo Kim Martial Arts Institute, etiquette plays a crucial role in fostering discipline, respect, and unity among our students. When entering or leaving the training floor, it is customary to bow as a sign of respect. Addressing the Grandmaster as "KWAN JANG NIM" and the Master as "SAH-BUM NIM" demonstrates the reverence we hold for their wisdom and leadership. During class, we line up in rank order, with the highest-ranking belt initiating the session. Upon the entrance of the Master Instructor, all students must bow to greet them, with higher-ranking belts guiding the younger ones in proper martial arts etiquette. This code of conduct instills a sense of honor and respect within our martial arts community, promoting an environment of learning and growth.
